Driving Question: How and Why Do Organisms Evolve?
What Did We Do?
- Inner Fish Video- We watched the video "Your Inner Fish" and learned of how evolution is supported by many lines of evidence, such as fossil, embryonic, and also genetic, alongside many other reasons.
- Rock Pocket Mouse- We did a packet and watched a video about how the environment affects creatures via natural selection.
- Color Vision Activity- We did an activity about the emergence of color vision in early man and learned about how natural selection changes a population.
- What Did T-Rex Taste Like?- We did an online thing, and learned about how cladograms work and how creatures evolved.
- Timeline Project- I learned a lot about the history of the giraffe and how natural selection and mutations can change a creature.
- DNA PCR Reaction- We learned how scientists find alu repeats in DNA and found out our own alu repeats via electrophoresis.

Giraffe Presentation
In this project we made a timeline for the evolutionary species that led up to the giraffe. In this project we went in depth into the history of the giraffe and described each of its ancestors. We also explained why the giraffe evolved and how it evolved.
REFLECTION
Two things I learned were, how to properly use a micropipet and use micro liters and how mutations can change a population. Two things I want to learn more about is DNA mutations and Natural Selection. I felt that I did very good on the group project and did a fair share of work. The response from Dr. LB seemed to agree with what I said, but I will try to be even better.
