IntroDuction
For this unit, we were tasked with building our own musical instruments. We started by learning about waves, particles and the transfer of energy. The requirements of this project were that each group needed one string, one wind, and one chime instrument and that each instrument needed to play eight notes. We also had to make a document explaining how each instruments function.
Concepts
Transverse waves- Wave where movement is perpendicular to wave motion. Ex: Light
Longitudinal waves- Wave where movement is parallel to wave motion. Ex: Sound
Frequency- Amount of waves in a given section. F
Wave Speed- Velocity of a wave. V
Wavelength- Length of one wave. One crest and one trough. λ
Period- The amount of time for one wave. T
Amplitude- The distance from the midsection of a wave to its crest/trough. A
Doppler Effect- An increase/decrease in the frequency of sound, light, or other waves as the source and observer move toward or away from each other.
Constructive Interference- When two waves interfere and the amplitude increases.
Destructive Interference- When two waves interfere and the amplitude is cancelled out.

Explanation
This document shows our instruments, how they work, and what notes they play. The instrument I chose to make was the string instrument. I decided to give it a single sting and eight markers to play the different notes, and dubbed it, "The Mono-Jonno."
Reflection
This has probably been my worst project to date. With a main focus on music, a subject that I have purposely avoided throughout my education, this project was quite difficult for me. I'd say my two largest pits were a lack of enthusiasm and my lack of general knowledge in the subject, this caused quite a few times where my team members had to help me. My two largest peaks were probably my creativity and my efficiency. This project was probably the least enjoyable for me just because of my disdain for the subject. I do believe the general perception of this project is positive, I just think it isn't my cup of tea.
